NightFuel — Privacy Policy

What Data NightFuel Collects

NightFuel stores the following data locally on your device only:

• Promise text — what you type or dictate as your promise and first step
• Voice recordings — audio files saved to your device's local storage when you use the microphone to record a promise
• Transcriptions — text generated from your voice recordings using Apple's on-device Speech Recognition framework
• Reminder times — the date and time you schedule for follow-up reminders
• Follow-through status — whether you marked a promise as done or missed
• App preferences — your chosen default reminder time and notification settings

What NightFuel Does NOT Collect

• No personal information (name, email, phone number, address)
• No account creation or login
• No analytics, tracking, or usage telemetry
• No advertising identifiers
• No location data
• No crash reports sent to third parties
• No cookies or web tracking

Data Storage

All data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. NightFuel does not use any cloud services, servers, or external databases. Your data is not transmitted over the internet for any reason.

Voice Recordings & Speech Recognition

When you use the microphone feature:

• Audio is recorded and saved locally on your device
• Transcription is performed using Apple's Speech Recognition framework (SFSpeechRecognizer), which processes audio on-device when available
• Apple may process some speech recognition requests on their servers depending on your device and iOS version — this is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy
• NightFuel does not send your audio to any third-party service

Notifications

NightFuel uses local push notifications to remind you of your promises at the times you choose. These notifications are scheduled entirely on your device and do not involve any external push notification service beyond Apple's standard notification system.

Data Deletion

You can delete individual promises by swiping to delete in the Promises list. You can delete all data at once using the "Clear all data" option in Settings. Uninstalling the app removes all NightFuel data from your device.

Third-Party Services

NightFuel does not integrate with any third-party services, SDKs, analytics platforms, or advertising networks. The app operates entirely offline.

Children's Privacy

NightFuel does not knowingly collect any data from children under 13. The app does not collect personal information from any user.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, the changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Since NightFuel does not collect your email or contact information, we cannot notify you directly — please check this page periodically.
